Hacienda del Alamo is a beautiful 18 hole championship golf course designed by Dave Thomas in a secluded, rural part of Spain, close to Fuente Alamo (Poplar Spring) surrounded by orange and lemon groves covering thousands of unspoilt acres. This course is usually in magnificent condition with wide fairways and fast greens and although slightly inland, about 20 minutes from the coast, is well worth the journey. The first hole opens with a challenging tee shot, where two well placed bunkers patrol either side of the fairway. But like many of the holes at Hacienda del Alamo, the landing areas are generous and players are unlikely to get into real trouble off the tee. There are several holes where water comes into play especially on the third, tenth and twelfth with intimidating lakes, which have to be navigated. Hacienda del Alamo will entertain all levels of golfers, with its lakes waterfalls and wide fairways and the recently opened luxurious club house and superb practice facilities will please everyone. There is also a 9 hole executive par 3 course available and plans to build an additional 18 hole course in the future.
